We offer a full professional valuation service for Sale, Probate and Insurance based on over 50 years of experience in the business.
Valuations are free and available at any time on our premises at Baron Court. Customers are most welcome to call in for advice but if you require specialised knowledge it may be advisable to make an appointment. Sale days are always busy so they are not the best times for valuations. If you are unable to reach us or the items you want to have valued are large, you can alternatively send us pictures by email and we will be very pleased to advise you. Once you have received advice on your goods you may wish to enter them for sale, which is a quick and easy process and they would be offered in the next available auction. Cut off dates for each sale are the Wednesday prior an Auction week as everything needs to be catalogued, photographed and made available for viewing online.
If you require a visit for the valuation of house contents for sale then please give us a call. Locally this is a free service but for calls further afield there may be a small charge initially, to cover costs, but if this leads to us being instructed to deal with the sale of the contents this would be waived or refunded.
For larger items, quantities and customers with transport difficulties we offer a collection service prior to each sale. However, a charge may be made for this depending upon time and distance involved.
A major part of our work is dealing with deceased estates. This involves giving accurate advice on both the Probate and Selling aspects of the contents of properties at a sensitive time. From small flats to large houses with contents comprising antiques, jewellery, fine art and the inevitable leftovers which need to be disposed of, we can help .
We offer a full service in this respect and do not just cherry pick the best items and leave families to deal with the rest. Often there are items among the contents of a property which can be grouped together to form suitable lots for sale instead of being discarded and in some cases this can make a significant difference to the value of the contents. The end result of this is that the bulk of our work comes from recommendation of satisfied individuals and solicitors.
If you wish to arrange an appointment for a house clearance valuation or assessment please call us or contact us.
Our lotting fee is just £3.00 per lot (plus VAT at the current rate) which covers both the lotting charge (pictures, catalogue, online, etc) and the insurance. We reserve the right to combine lots to make entries worthwhile and will discuss additional insurance charges where appropriate for special sales. The lotting fee is the only charge you will pay for trying items in auction, if they don’t sell.
Clients find our low commission rate of just 20% (plus VAT at the current rate) very attractive. Trade rates are available for regular sellers or specialist sales.
